#firstdayofpiano #pianolessons #pianoclass #kids #piano #pianoschool #ocmusica #musicvideo #musiceducation Why should you dance? What are the benefits of dance?

9 Benefits of Dancing

1. MAKE FRIENDS
A dance class is the perfect setting to make friends. What’s better than dancing around and making friends in the process?

2. BUILD CONFIDENCE
A person who can dance in front of a room full of people is bound to be confident. Dancing is a way of being comfortable with yourself. And dancing in a group is sure to give your confidence a boost.

3. BUST STRESS
Stressed? Grab someone and dance. Or dance by yourself to music that you love. Research reveals that dance accompanied by music or a partner can relieve stress.

4. STRONGER HEART
Dance is incredibly great for those at a risk of cardiovascular diseases. Dancing has been proven to be even more effective than biking of walking in such cases.

5. BETTER BALANCE
This one’s kind of obvious isn’t it? Dancing requires good posture and lots of movement, so naturally, it improves our sense of balance.

6. IMPROVE FLEXIBILITY
Those ballet and jazz dancers aren’t just looking good. All that jumping around and plie-ing makes them super flexible. Of course, you don’t need to be a pro to reap the benefits. Just put on some music and stretch! That will do the trick too.

7. BOOST MEMORY
Hard to believe? Think back to the number of times you’ve had to remember the steps to a group dance. Scientifically though, aerobic exercise can reverse volume loss in the hippocampus, the part of the brain that controls memory. The hippocampus naturally shrinks during late adulthood, which often leads to impaired memory and sometimes dementia. So dance your way out of dementia.

8. BURN CALORIES
Don’t like hitting the gym? Just put on some music and dance! It’s a great way to lose weight, and it’s super fun too!

9. BEAT DEPRESSION
When have you seen someone look sad when they dance? Dancing brings an instant mood lift. So the next time you feel the blues, get up and start dancing.

With all of the benefits mentioned above, get on your feet and dance your way to health and happiness!
