Morgan Burtner

Violin, Piano

Morgan Burtner is a third-year violin performance major at the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State Long Beach in the studio of Moni Simeonov. She’s been playing for 16 years and has been part of an orchestra since the age of 6. Her orchestra experience includes performances at Carnegie Hall, the Muth in Vienna, Dvorak Hall in Prague, and Disney Concert Hall. She has been in orchestra pits for numerous musical theater productions and operas. She has been part of a baroque ensemble under the guidance of LA Phil cellist, David Garret and has participated in the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association Honors Orchestra. She began volunteering as an assistant teacher with the West Coast Classical Orchestra at twelve and was hired on as staff at fifteen. She began teaching privately shortly thereafter and has great purpose in helping other musicians towards their artistic and performance goals. She’s had the benefit of excellent instruction and does her best to ensure that her own students benefit from sound principles, adherence to classical theory and a fair and attentive teacher. While her ultimate goal is to play professionally for a world class orchestra, she will always aspire to have a lasting impact on other musicians through teaching.
